The Perfect Race for a Personal Worst Time

The route cuts through roughly 600 acres of dense, thick woodland Coarse underfoot, roots, ruts, mud, low light and that quiet, oppressive woodland atmosphere where time feels slightly warped. The woodland does not care about your watch or your splits.
A great place to set a personal worst and wear it with pride.

Route

10km, single loop
Half marathon, double loop
Half marathon relay, 2 people, single loop each

The route has been developed in collaboration with Stuart the Head Forester. Bere Wood is a private woodland where access has been granted for this trail event.

The terrain is RAW and VARIED, expect:
– Woodland tracks
– Uneven ground
– Rooted sections
– Seasonal mud
This is not a FAST route it is a FUN route, that’s a deliberate act of CHARACTER BUILDING

Gpx will be issued to participants prior to the event

Domesday Book

Deep inside the woodland of Charborough Estate, there is a tree. Not signposted. Not celebrated. Just there. It stood when England was counted and measured in the Domesday Book. If trees kept receipts, this one would have seen some things.

Race HQ

Arrive, gather yourself, and question your decisions before heading into the forest.

A covered base to settle in. There’s space to stand around, talk,, eat and drink.  Once you’ve made it back out. It’s a place to sit, recover, and compare stories from the trees.
